Dem Debate night one:

Presented in glorious Bernie-vision: support 15 minimum wage, immigration reform, no regime change wars, Medicare for all, Democratic Socialism, Green New Deal, free college tuition, taxing billionaires and millionaires their fair share, opposing the pharmaceutical industry, private health insurance industry, military industrial complex etc? These ideas were all part of Bernie’s platform in 2016, ridiculed by the main stream media at the time but now plagiarized by the 2020 Bernie-clones below (with some blatant corporate candidate exceptions). These current candidates promote one or other of Bernie’s ideas from 2016, now propped up by the MSM - the same media who ran a propaganda campaign against them In 2016.

Scores are based on an average of the extent to which the candidates in question (in the subjective opinion of stoningroll.com) have been influenced by Bernie’s 2016 agenda and whether there is evidence that they are sincere in their support of those policies.

Bill de Blasio - fifteen dollar minimum wage in New York City (even that’s not enough), says Dems should be party of working people etc. (yet supported Hillary in 2016).

Average Bernie score: 2 out of 10

Julian Castro - immigration probably key focus during debate. Hillary supporter in 2016.

Average Bernie score: 2 out of 10

Tim Ryan - foreign policy (regime change) ideas ‘shot down’ somewhat (ironically) by Tulsi Gabbard.

Average Bernie score: 1 out of 10

Cory Booker - voted against bringing cheaper Canadian medicine into USA (even though made in America) claiming quality control issues (even though Canada has stricter controls than the USA). Not great on health care.

Average Bernie score: 1 out of 10

Elizabeth (I am a capitalist) Warren - stressed Medicare for all (having claimed many paths to this up until this debate) - did a bit of a Hillary (who advocated 15 minimum wage in 2016 on stage in debate with Bernie despite being vague about it before), Green New Deal, free college tuition. She didn’t talk like that in 2016 when she endorsed Hillary not Bernie.

Average Bernie score: 4 out of 10

Beto O’Rourke - vague Bernie-esque platitudes about coming together as a country, dodgy views about immigration (pointed out by Castro).

Average Bernie score: 1 out of ten

Amy Klobuchar - generic corporate person, who means well

Average Bernie score: 3 out of ten

Jay Inslee - Green New Deal guy, nothing more to say really

Average Bernie score: 2 out of ten

Tulsi Gabbard - Bernie supporter in 2016, is against regime change wars, against war with Iran, environmentalist, authentic, has put her life on the line as a soldier

Bernie score - 8 out of ten

John Delaney - insists that Medicare for all is bad policy and bad politics, lies about the consequences of Medicare for all (that many people would lose insurance they like. That is false since people would keep the doctor they like with government eliminating the greed of insurance companies).

Bernie score - 0 out of ten
