Included in Biden’s video was a reference to Charlottesville being relevant for the Declaration of Independence (Thomas Jefferson had lived there): “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

After the launch of the YouTube video, the first thing Biden did was meet with Comcast executives in Philadelphia (Comcast owns CNN). CNN then spent much of the day propagating the misleading notion that Biden is the Democratic Party front-runner in polls; actually Bernie Sanders is the front-runner (even according to CNN’s own web-site the day before Biden officially launched his campaign). CNN for months had been relying on skewed polls when referencing Biden which excluded the opinions of younger voters.

CNN was in full anti-progressive Clintonesque propaganda mode as their coverage of Biden unfolded throughout the day. One might have thought that no one could top the arrogance of David Axelrod’s suggestion (in discussion with Anderson Cooper) that now that Biden had announced, all the other Democratic candidates had been sent to the ‘kiddies table’. However, worse was still to come.

Most egregious in his lack of journalistic objectivity in promoting Biden during the day of Biden’s launch was undoubtedly Don Lemon, who dismissed Biden’s treatment of Anita Hill during Clarence Thomas’s Supreme Court hearing as a ‘tempest in a tea-cup’. Further, Lemon suggested that the progressive wing within the Democratic Party had been getting ‘all of the attention’. True, they got some attention during Town halls in prior months and negative attention in the context of criticism of progressives like Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez etc. but Biden got quite a bit of positive media attention during that time too even though he was still Biden’ his time at that point. To put Lemon’s statement in context, in 2016 Bernie was almost completely shunned by CNN and the mainstream media in general.

Don Lemon did not allude to the fact that despite his repeated assertion that 50% of Democratic Party voters are centrist moderates (basically republican, like Biden) the peaceful protesters that countered aggressive neo-Nazis in Charlottesville were not centrist moderates like Biden. Nor were they Republicans like John Kasich (who Don Lemon chummily interviewed on his show in support of Biden) - they were PROGRESSIVES. They weren’t Hillary Clinton supporters, they were Bernie supporters or Jill Stein supporters.

Joe Biden is the Hillary Clinton of 2020. Progressives will not vote for him or be duped into a ‘lesser of two evils’ choice as they were in 2016.

The YouTube video which disingenuously heralds Joe Biden’s third campaign for the Democratic nomination and ultimately President of the United States contains two ironies which no ‘journalist’ at CNN (or MSNBC etc.) reported on. First, the video references words written by Thomas Jefferson (“We hold these truths to be self-evident, etc”) which historians agree were plagiarized almost word for word from the work of English philosopher John Locke (in his 2nd Treatise on Government, 1689). Relatedly, Joe Biden dropped out of his first run for the Democratic nomination for President in 1988 because it emerged that he had plagiarized a speech by Neil Kinnock of the U.K.’s Labour Party (allegations also emerged that he had plagiarized during law school and had exaggerated his academic record). Biden is a considerable liar on a par with Hillary Clinton, though perhaps not in Trump’s ‘big league’ of liars.

Irony number two - The Labour Party were then the U.K.’s mainstream SOCIALIST PARTY.
