stoningroll.com is a unique site that focuses on music, poetry and politics through the lenses of the avant-garde, surrealism and magic realism.

We offer SIX different kinds of album review for up and coming artists, with different associated costs. The first FOUR kinds of review include the production of a short e-book which will be made available on Amazon's kindle store (which can be read on any device), and an AUDIOBOOK from ACX at Amazon, which will aspire in one way or another (see below) to be an extension of the art you have created in your music. The audiobook will be produced by a professional ACX narrator and producer. These four kinds of review also include a complimentary avant-garde mention in the editor's picks area of the site, complete with a YouTube video of your music (if available) plus a link to your music online (e.g. bandcamp, soundcloud etc.).

Estimated time for completion of the audiobook of your review is approximately one month (but may be much quicker than that, depending on the type of review selected). Using your band/artist website or social media, you can advertise these e-books and audiobooks to your fans (we will also provide promotion on stoningroll.com). Audiobooks will be available at a low cost from iTunes, Audible and Amazon; e-books will be made available for your fans to download for free periodically and at a very low cost generally. Kindle unlimited subscribers will be able to read the e-books for free without restriction, and those who buy the e-book of your review can lend it for free to anyone they choose. Think of it as an innovation in the way music gets promoted online.

Choose from six kinds of review:

- 1) an apocryphal tale (short fictional story) customized for your band and album, which incorporates an element of magic realism For example, see the piece on Soley Mourning on the homepage of this site. This kind of review is the most creatively demanding and time consuming, typically taking many hours of work. The cost of this kind of artistic review of your album is currently $45 (or equivalent in your country's currency)

-2) a surreal review (factual biographical information about your band/album etc. mixed with an element of surrealism). For example, see the pieces on The Who, The Beatles and The Jam on the homepage of this site. This sort of review is not quite so creatively demanding, but is still time consuming. The going rate for this sort of review is currently $35 (or equivalent in your country's currency)

- 3) a surreal essay (no factual/biographical information - just straightforwardly surreal!). For example, see the pieces entitled 'Lennon v McCartney' and 'Joni Mitchell - Blue' on the homepage of this site. This kind of review will not be limited by any objective constraints regarding the nature of your album - it will be a purely subjective fictional literary endeavor. The current cost of this kind of review is $25 (or equivalent in your country's currency)

- 4) an avant-garde poem with each verse corresponding to and influenced by each song from your album. For example, see the piece on Blondie's album 'Eat To The Beat' on the homepage of this site. This kind of review takes the form of a long avant-garde poem rather than a surreal essay. The current cost for this kind of review is currently $15 (or equivalent in your country's currency).

-5) a 'straight-up' review of your album - a traditional kind of review with no bells, whistles or porcupines. The current cost of this kind of review (around six or seven paragraphs) is $10 (or equivalent in your country's currency). For this kind of review, we provide a positive evaluation of music that we regard as having objective artistic merit regardless of what our own subjective musical preferences may be. The artwork for your album (pending final review at our discretion - don't worry, our primary concern is legally permissibility) will be prominently displayed on the relevant slider on stoningroll.com, and the review will be posted prominently on the relevant part of the site.

- 6) an avant-garde mention in the "editor's picks" section of the site, including a photo and your preferred link to your music. See the "editor's picks" section of the site for examples. The current rate for this kind of review is FREE.
